This release comes from Yuba County. Over the next few weeks they hope get a better idea of how mail service has been impacted by the closure of the Olivehurst facility. This site is being sent to all eight counties previously served by that site. The Plumas Lake folks know how to get onto these kinds of forums, so hopefully it's not too much of a hassle. Thanks.

Yuba County Asks: Is Your Mail On Time?

MARYSVILLE, CA – Northern California families and businesses that have seen a change in their mail service now have a website where they can talk about it. Yuba County has established an Internet-based message board to gauge changes to mail delivery after the U.S. Postal Service shut down the Olivehurst sorting facility.

The new forum, www.checkyourmail.freeforums.org, gives residents in the eight counties previously served by the Olivehurst facility a chance to talk about the differences – positive or negative – they are noticing in mail delivery. A quick link to the forum is available at www.yuba.org.

“We think people need one place where they can go to tell us about their mail service after sorting operations were moved to West Sacramento at the end of June,” said Yuba County Supervisor Mary Jane Griego. “We were told by Postal officials that service would get better after they moved the sorting further away, but so far the jury is out.”

The free forum site has a quick registration process that includes creating a user name. Participants can then find their county and post their observations.
