Maybe all of here on this forum who have followed this thread can help hitman in his desire to leave our community, chip in and buy his house on a short sale and then rent it out to one of the fine folks stationed at Beale AFB!! Win-Win for everyone.

Hitman seems to think this place is such a "great" place, I wonder why they moved here to begin with?

btw hitman you may think your sh!t doesn't stink and you are "better" than the rest of us, sorry to burst your bubble but that just isn't the case. I may have issues with AngieG in some respects, however I'm certainly no better than her or anyone who chooses to call this area home. If you feel you are above us then I suggest buying a house in a community more suited to your attitude, that is if you can afford it.

I try to spend very little $ in this county as it just helps our neighbors in the other towns who have no respect for the PL

C'mon people, everyone has a right to their own opinion! I can't help but wonder if these folks were talking to each other face to face like big boys and girls if they would use the same tone and same hurtful words. Sheesh! What happened to being polite while respecting each other's differing opinion. To the nice folks that originally posted the question, I sure hope your friendly question doesn't deter you from PL. If you are having your home built in PL, GOOD for you. I wish you many happy years and if you have children, I think you will like the community "feel" if you will and the schools. I've got my girls into soccer this year and have met lots of really great people! A forum such as this makes the dipshits of the area rear their ugly heads as they sit on their arse behind a computer. Don't let that deter you. I am far from a neighborhood do-gooder but I will certainly lift a hand to help anyone that needs it or wave to a neighbor or try my best not to use the one-fingered wave if someone is driving like an {BUTT}. That being said, I hope you are not looking for work in the Yuba County area...a cpl months ago the unemployment rate was something like 23% and 3rd highest in the nation. I just hope you folks can look past the pettyness (sp) of some posters and realize this is a pretty good place to live. I'll be honest, if I didn't have kids, I would be in Roseville but as someone mentioned, it's pretty close! Everyone have a wonderful Easter.

I agree that the pettiness is lame, but I'll tell you this - if somebody demeans or makes false statements about my posts, I am going to call them on it. Politely at first, not so politely after that. I'm just not a passive person.

Also, if somebody talked to me that way in person, I would respond exactly the same way that I do on here.

Ok...so you don't agree with my opinions. Well that's perfectly fine. You have every right to not agree with me. And in reference to your other post, you spent 1/3 of your savings as a down payment? I have to ask this; why would you do that? What did you gain by dropping a sizable amount of cash? Why not let that cash work for you in a more profitable way?

I didn't gain anything. I admit it...I made a HUGE mistake. I put down a ton of money took out a 15 year loan and thought I'd be in great shape to not owe a mortgage on this house before I hit 41 years of age. Oh well, at least I'll still hit that goal....problem is I planned on buying another house somewhere else after paying off the loan and turning the PL home into a rental....I didn't anticipate that I'd grow so dissatisfied with the area that i couldn't stand it anymore and want out now. Now I have to drastically cut the number of vacations I take annually to save enough for a 20% down payment on a house in a respectable area. That has me quite irked and has grown to be extremely frusterating.

Not sure if this is to me or hey you but I did go back to your very first post and in that very first post was the following:
"Trust me...you don't want to move to an area where the scum from the lowest levels of the social stratosphere are a rock's throw down the road. And now they are starting to move here."

Since I live in the surrounding area along with a huge amount of friends and family you did indeed attack first.

Thats all.

Well...then you live an an area where the scum from the lowest levels of the social stratosphere ARE a rock's throw down the road from Plumas Lake. That I WON'T take back. Because its true. Unlikely that you are one the scum...but you apparantly live amongst them non-the-less. Olivehurst, Linda, Marsyville, Yuba City, Wheatland, & Nicolaus are all CRAP towns. And it's just an opinion honey...live with it or get over it.

Sucks to be you making a huge mistake as you have, if you don't like it here then you have the option to foreclose or short sale. Of course there would go your goal of having the house paid off by 41.

With your attitude you can be assured that anywhere you move you will be unhappy since there are "scum" everywhere.

Though I don't consider angieg a friend I have met her and I know that she is indeed a good person, as are many others outside of the Plumas Lake area.

Yes as a matter of fact it does suck to live here...very much indeed. And a foreclosure or short sale would NEVER be an option. I'll leave the walking out on a home loan to other people who choose to venture down the path of credit destruction. I have never had a late payment (on anything) in my life, much less a friggin' foreclosure. Good God...what loser status that would be to obtain a foreclosure on my credit history by choice.

Yes...there will always be scum everywhere. Unfortunately, there is a huge concentration of them around PL. And that's my problem...the magnitude of those crap people. I'm well aware that there are plenty of good people in the surrounding areas of PL too...but there's just WAY too many of scum for my liking. It's just an opinion. As brutal as it may be, its also just as honest.

...and that's your opinion and you're entitled to it. If you think I'm "vile and hateful" for not liking the surrounding areas around PL then fine, whatever. I'm not going to bash you for your opinion. :hammer: We can just agree to disagree....its just an opinion not a proclamation of war.

To sum it up...I don't like PL for various reasons...one of them being the surrounding towns that I think are CRAP and have a lot of scummy people. You happen to live in one of those towns that I think are CRAP and have a lot of scummy people. However, if you aren't one of those scummy people, you really shouldn't take offense now should you. I'm sure you're as decent as the next person...but your "neighbors" make me want to vomit.

Cheers! :D

How about we all throw a welcome BBQ for the original poster surfxstoked down at the Cobblestone park and then we can meet in person and name call accordingly? Oh, yeah, no BBQ pits in Cobblestone, c'mon OPUD get on it. p.s. I'm Eric of Jodianderic, and my wife disavows herself from anything I say or post. Everyone have a Happy Easter Weekend!! This was a fun thread.

Let's do it. On more than one occasion I have wheeled my BBQ to the Cobblestone park.

I'm in for a BBQ to welcome the new neighbors...I make a mean pasta salad... :D

Having been born and raised in the area, I must be one of the "scum." I admit, I left because I thought this was a boring little place with nothing to do. First, I went away to Santa Rosa (Rohnert Park actually) for school. Loved the area but would never have been able to afford a house there (maybe I could now?) Then I moved to Downtown Sacramento....tons to do but had my car broken into all the time and was constantly worried about the serial rapist who was hitting the area every couple of days (did they ever catch that guy?) Moved to Roseville, loved the amenities, but HATED the traffic. Bought my first house in Fair Oaks...all 850 sq feet. Turned out that the neighbor was a drug dealer (I thought that was supposed to be a GOOD neighborhood?!?!) Made a hefty profit on that little place and moved back "home" to PL.

I'm one of the few who is not underwater, so maybe that skews my perspective. Also, I have tons of friends and family (apparently they are scum too?) in the area. So that may help. But here are the reasons I returned...

My house is much larger than my first one (mentioned above) and I paid just about the same amount for it. My yard is big and beautiful which allows me to plant a garden every year, have tons of fruit trees AND still have plenty of room. I have friends and family out for BBQs all the time (2-3/mo at least, when the weather is nice). While the stars are the same as everywhere else I have lived, I can actually see them out here. I love to walk along the river and out in the gold fields. I love being able to drive around see all of the farm animals when I feel a bit blue (they always put a smile on my face). Best of all, I know my neighbors and we all look out for one another.

Here are the reasons I considered NOT moving back...

It is a long drive to shopping/restaurants/groceries. Can't think of another....

I have lived in the Plumas Lake area for roughly 10 years of my life and in the Yuba Sutter area for another 14 years. With minor exception, I have never had any issues. I do have a neighbor who drives too fast and there is a barking dog next door but if those are my biggest complaints, I'll take it!!!

So, to the original poster....welcome to Plumas Lake and I hope you enjoy living here as much as I do.
