I am interested in remodeling part of my house. It is the 1850 sq ft Beazer 3 bdrm. I want to remove the column (post?) that is located in the living room. Anyone considered this or done this?

It sounds like it is a load bearing column. I'd hire a contractor to give u a free estimate and consultation

Given my experience with the lack of quality from Beazer, after 8 years in my home, I would reconsider taking out any column for fear that the house would implode in on itself.

That was added afterwards to keep the roof from collapsing. LOL
