Hi Plumas Lake readers -- The Appeal-Democrat is working on a story about the stoplight at Feather River Boulevard and Highway 70, at Plumas Lake. Later this year, work is supposed to begin to turn that into an interchange and remove the stoplight. Wanted to see if residents down there have any thoughts about that. If so, please contact reporter Ben van der Meer at 749-4786 or bvandermeer@appealdemocrat.com.

I'm sure it will be a bit inconvenient during the build but once it's done I won't have to wait at a stoplight any more. Normally it's not too bad of a wait anyway. I can't even begin to count how many people I've watched driving North/South on 70 that run that red light while I'm turning and I've only been here for about a year. Too few drivers on 70 are paying attention to the light right now and it's only a matter of time before someone gets t-boned. I see someone run this light in the morning approximately once every couple of weeks.

I totally agree. We have been here for over seven years. When we first got here, there wasn't even a light. The light has improved things, but it is still a very dangerous intersection. I too, have seen a lot of folks run the light, including more than a few big rigs................ they just blow their horn and keep on trucking.
The overpass will certainly make things a lot safer and speed the rush hour commutes.

Sorry couldn't help but laugh at this one, since I used to drive home to San Jose on 101/280 at 5pm daily. :D

I laugh every time when people complain about traffic up here.... they don't know how good they have it.
