I drive past Plumas Lake every week, always been intrigued by the large modern houses that are advertised in the mid 100s. Did some zillow/craigslist browsing and i was quite surprised to find 1800+sq ft houses going for as low as 130k, with average monthly rental above 1k a month, often around 1300-1500.

Im aware of the flood warnings, seems to be covered by new levees and insurance.

Im aware of the fact there is only 1 commercial business. Seriously nobody has tried to open a coffee shop or something?

However i like the stability of possible renters due to Beale AFB, and those looking to rent in a nicer safer neighborhood outside the slums of olivehurst. i like how every home is 2003 or newer, and how there are 2 well rated schools in the neighborhood.

The houses themselves look nice compared to others in the area, especially compared some properties i own in oroville and in the bay area.

It seems like a good idea to get into a mortgage on one of these properties now, and then let renters cover it until its paid off. Seems like a decent place to retire as well, or possibly raise a family.
